Parents or guardians may:

  • review the personal information we have collected about their child

  • request correction or deletion of their child’s information

  • account and authentication information

  • payment information and transaction records, if you purchase paid services

  • information submitted in connection with parental consent

  • records of parental requests, permissions, and communications with us

  • a child’s display name or nickname, where chosen for use in the product

B. From Child Users

We collect the information reasonably necessary to operate Taroo and provide its features.

  • persistent identifiers and similar identifiers used to support the internal operations of Taroo, such as authentication, security, analytics, debugging, and service functionality

Where relevant to a feature, Taroo may store child-created photos, audio, drawings, text, or other creative assets in our core product systems so that the feature works as intended, progress can be saved, and parents can view outputs and insights.

We do not collect precise geolocation. We do not access contacts, camera roll, microphone, camera, or similar device permissions unless the feature requires it and the appropriate permissions and parental consent have been obtained.

We do not use children’s personal information for targeted advertising, behavioral advertising, or sale of personal information to third parties.

5. Information We Share

We do not sell or rent user data.

We may share limited information only in the following circumstances:

  • with service providers and vendors that help us operate Taroo, such as hosting, analytics, payment processing, authentication, communications, customer support, and infrastructure providers, and only under contractual restrictions and confidentiality obligations

  • when required by law, legal process, or to protect the safety, rights, or security of users, Taroo, or others

  • as part of a business transaction such as a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to applicable legal requirements

We do not allow service providers to use children’s personal information for their own advertising, profiling, or unrelated commercial purposes.

6. Cookies, Local Storage, Analytics, and Session Replay

We use cookies, SDKs, local storage, and similar technologies for essential functions, such as keeping users signed in, remembering settings, securing sessions, and operating the service.

We also use analytics and session replay tools, including PostHog, to help us understand how Taroo is used, diagnose bugs, improve performance, review navigation and usability issues, and support the internal operations of the service.

These tools may collect categories of information such as:

  • screen views and navigation paths

  • taps, clicks, scrolling, timing, and feature usage

  • device, browser, operating system, and app diagnostics

  • persistent identifiers and similar technical identifiers

Where feasible, we configure analytics and replay tools to avoid collecting unnecessary sensitive information and to limit capture of content or screens that are not needed for analytics or debugging purposes.

Taroo does not use analytics or replay technologies for behavioral advertising, cross-context advertising, or sale of data.

7. Data Retention and Security

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

In general:

  • analytics and replay data may be retained for a shorter period based on product, debugging, and operational needs

  • parental consent records, transaction records, and certain compliance records may be retained as needed for legal, audit, or dispute-resolution purposes

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect children’s personal information, including access controls, role-based permissions, secure storage, and other security measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we process.
